Operating since 2004, Rhonda identified the need for a family orientated event for both local and visitors to Caloundra to celebrate the start of a New Year. The first event attracted over 2000 people and this event continued to grow in attendance numbers and success with the most recent event bringing 6000 plus people to the celebrations at Caloundra. The evening starts at approximately 4:30 pm and consists of a twilight movie, roving artists, side show alley, stage acts more recently in 2013, Justice League and a number of talented local performers. The evening draws to a conclusion with a fireworks display at approximately 9-15pm from the foreshore of Kings Beach, Caloundra. Seven years ago, Rhonda was introduced to Roger Davy from Vavachi Entertainment with the intention of co-ordinating “Opera on Kings” at Caloundra. A free community event. This event has become another successful annual event.Providing a professional event is of the up most importance to Rhonda whether it is a family orientated event, corporate or musical/theatrical themed event. Event co-ordination is a passion for Rhonda who is totally committed to meet the standard and needs that come with each particular event.Showcased at Kings Beach, Caloundra on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and held at the purposely and ideally created, the "Ampitheatre" it is the perfect place to enjoy a wide range of vocal and theatrical performances. Creative Events Sunshine Coast together with the performers of Vavachi Entertainment provide the audience an unforgettable evening of music and song by some of Queensland's finest young performers.

Victory in the Pacific Celebrations-August 2005

To commemorate the 60th year anniversary of the “Victory in the Pacific” a two-week commemorative activity programme was organised beginning on August 8th 2005 with the placement of 500 white crosses being placed in Kings Beach Park where the Governor of Australia, Major General Michael Jeffrey, was the guest of honour. An Army helicopter delivered a larger white cross which the Governor General accepted on behalf of the Unknown Soldier.On the 14th August a march of Returned Service people and their families together with member of the Light Horse Brigade and old army vehicles took place along the foreshore of Kings Beach. An aircraft fly-past took place. At conclusion of the march a concert featuring James Morrison and his band took place at the Ampitheatre at Kings Beach. A wreath laying ceremony was held at the Cenotaph on the Headland on August 15th, where Prime Minister Ben Chifley's speech was read out.The conclusion to these celebrations on the 20th August was the” Victory in the Pacific” Re-enactment Ball, was held at the Caloundra Civic Centre with Queensland's Governor , Quentin Bryce being the guest of honour as well as many other dignatories and ex servicemen and women sharing their memories and paying respect and tribute to those friends that did not return home

Back in 2004, the Community New Years Eve celebrations were held for the first time at the wonderful Kings Lions Park with a crowd of several hundred people and a small fireworks display.

Ten years later, the event has grown to be one of the must do's for Caloundra locals and visitors alike during the summer holidays. Today we see annual crowds around 10,000.

Known now as the best family beach party on the Sunshine Coast, Caloundra Community NYE Celebrations at Kings Beach epitomises Caloundra as the family playground of South East Queensland.

Audiences are made up of all age groups. Families celebrate together and have a memorable night.
